Steve Zakuani has gained the required help to publish his very first foray into book-writing.
The 26-year old winger recently announced his retirement from professional soccer after struggling during his return from a badly broken leg.
Zakuani, who is a former Arsenal youth player, is set to release '500 Days' which is the story of his career including his time with the Seattle Sounders and arch rivals Portland Timbers.
A 'Kickstarter' page was launched to help fund the publishing of the book and as of today, there has been $6,994 pledged, surpassing the desired total of $5,000.
Zakuani is a former MLS number one draft pick who sustained a horrible injury to his leg in April 2011 while playing with the Sounders. He announced his retirement while with the Timbers on October 29 this year.
