Former Arsenal, Marseille, Villarreal and Aston Villa midfielder Robert Pires has kept the door ajar for a potential move to the A-League.
The 38-year old French World Cup winner, who has previously been linked with Sydney FC, is currently without a club and hinted to Fox Sports that he is open to an Australian shift.
"At that moment I preferred to stay in Europe," he said of the Sydney link. "Now, if I have an opportunity with Australia I need to think about it.""Why not? It's a great country," Pires said. "If I go to Australia it's a new experience, a new challenge.
