Former Arsenal striker Tony Woodcock is urging Robin van Persie to stay.
The Gunners have offered him £130,000 a week but Van Persie, 28 has stalled on it.
"Robin has said he will always love the club and that means something," said Woodcock in the Daily Star Sunday.
"A lot of times people think that the grass is greener elsewhere and find that is not the case.
"When you speak about players like Van Persie - and ones who are playing at the top of the Premier League - it cannot be a money factor.
"If they've got their heads screwed on right then they'll be financially secure, so it can not be about earning a couple of million pounds more. It has to be about the club."
