Ex-Arsenal striker Simpson chose Hull over Blackpool offer

Former Arsenal striker Jay Simpson rejected an offer from Blackpool to sign with Hull City.

Simpson, 21, is on the verge of a £1million move to relegated Hull where he has agreed a three-year deal.

But Seasiders boss Ian Holloway made a last-ditch attempt earlier this week to persuade the forward to go to the Premier League new boys.

Yet Simpson has opted to link-up with Tigers boss Nigel Pearson instead at the KC Stadium after also holding talks with Bristol City.

He follows Derby hitman Rob Hulse and Ipswich marksman Jon Stead in snubbing Holloway after they both failed to agree personal terms.
