Ex-Arsenal striker Afobe wants to take down Tottenham's Kane

Wolves striker Benik Afobe is determined to beat Harry Kane as England's top scorer this season.

Tottenham's Kane has netted 30 goals in all competitions this term but Afobe, who has been in fine form with Wolves since his January move from Arsenal, is one ahead with 31.

The 22-year old scored 19 goals on loan with MK Dons in the first half of the season before adding 12 with the Molineux outfit and is desperate to continue that run of form through until the end of the campaign.

"He (Kane) has five games and I have two," said Afobe.

"I have played with a lot of these players Harry, Ross Barkley and Jack Wilshere who's my friend, but everyone has their own destiny.

"I have never looked at one player and thought 'that could have been me'. I think that's another reason why I'm doing well.

"I never compare myself to any player. The way people don't succeed in life is that they worry about other people too much.

"I wanted 30 goals. I got to 30 and now I want to keep scoring, I want to get to 35. People have asked 'what's my favourite goal?' I always say 'the next one'."
