Emmanuel Adebayor admits he never was friends with Robin van Persie at Arsenal.
Now with Istanbul Basaksehir, Adebayor spoke with So Foot about his relationships at the Gunners and how his move to Manchester City emerged.
On Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, Adebayor states: "He is not a friend, but a good coach.
"My departure at Arsenal offered mixed feelings, I did not want to leave.
"We were in the Champions League and Manchester City was not qualified yet, but Wenger told me I was no longer in his plans, which surprised me, because the only person who did not like me at the club was (Robin) Van Persie.
"It was was mutual, but on the field we set ourselves up as professionals."
Adebayor left Arsenal for City in 2009 for £25m.
