Nigel Winterburn has condemned the weekend's pitch invasion involving Aston Villa supporters.
?Villa fans raced onto the Villa Park pitch after their team beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday which has drawn a lot of criticism from the media.
?Former Arsenal defender Winterburn joined the chorus of commentators who felt the form of the Villa supporters left a lot too be desired.
?"We can't let supporters come on to the pitch even if it's after the game and they are celebrating because what it does, is rile the opposition supporters as well," he told talkSPORT.
"You then start to get retaliation and fights and at the end of that you get absolute chaos.
"You have to have the safety of not only the officials and players [in mind] but the safety of the supporters as well and you have to realise we have young children sitting there. It's not a good scene for them to be seeing."?
