Manchester City's football development executive Patrick Vieira says MLS expansion franchise New York City FC will follow the same development path of the 2011/12 English Premier League champions.
City owner Sheik Mansour is the majority owner of the second New York side and Vieira immediately made clear the plans of the franchise to put in place a similar youth development system as the Eastlands outfit.
"We will share the same way of developing young talent," Vieira said.
"I think this is why it will be really exciting. Because bringing our knowledge and how we develop young players will be the same in New York."
