Ex-Arsenal star Ljungberg signs deal with Celtic

Former Arsenal and West Ham United star Freddie Ljungberg has joined Celtic on a free transfer.

The 33-year old Swede, who has spent the past two years in the USA's Major League Soccer with Seattle Sounders and Chicago Fire, passed a medical on Thursday.

He will no saddle up for the Bhoys and is in the mix for this weekend's Old Firm clash with Rangers at Ibrox.

Ljungberg arrived in Glasgow earlier this week to train with the club who will officially unveil him as their latest signing in a press conference at Lennoxtown Training Centre on Friday, December 31 at 10am.

The attacking midfielder spent nine seasons with the Gunners, winning two Premierships and three FA Cups before moving to Upton Park for one season with the Hammers.

Prior to his England career, the 75-time capped Swedish international played five seasons for homeland club Halmstad.
