New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry is well aware what constitutes a derby and what doesn't. The former Arsenal and Barcelona star played in many throughout his career and usually they were fairly big ones such as the North London derby with Tottenham and the El Clasico in Spain against Real Madrid.
This weekend, arguably the two biggest clubs in MLS - New York and LA Galaxy - meet in Week 8 of the 2011 season and the match is sure to grab plenty of headlines.
But Henry, who has hit form in recent weeks with three goals in his past three outings, says that Saturday night's clash at The Home Depot Center is simply another standard fixture.
"Obviously it's going to be LA and New York and people are going to talk about it, but that's it," Henry said.
"You only get three points It's important to play well in this game like it's important to play well against Chivas the week after and the other games we have after that."
And the Frenchman also talked down the Beckham v Henry tussle which is being touted in the media.
"As I said, it's not Beckham vs. Henry, its LA Galaxy against the Red Bulls," Henry added.
