Ex-Arsenal star Henry helps NYRB take out Emirates Cup

Thierry Henry experienced the perfect day yesterday as he helped New York Red Bulls take home the 2011 Emirates Cup. The Frenchman captained the MLS outfit to a 1-1 draw against former club Arsenal at Emirates Stadium in North London to help them take the trophy back to Red Bull Arena.

Arsenal scored first three minutes before half-time when Tomas Rosicky 's free-kick was met by a Robin van Persie header and although the Gunners dominated the match, New York pulled one back with six minutes left to force a draw.

Henry fed Roy Miller and the Costa Rican defender sidestepped his marker before cutting it back where Gunners substitute Kyle Bartley bundled into his own goal under extreme duress.

The draw allowed New York to finish on top of the table following their 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday to finish with a 1-0-1 record, a point clear of PSG who defeated Boca Juniors 3-0 yesterday after the Argentines drew 2-2 with Arsenal on the opening day.
