Ex-Arsenal prospect Wynter says Gnabry right to quit for Germany

Former Arsenal midfielder Jordan Wynter believes they gaffed allowing Serge Gnabry to leave.

Wynter, now with Woking, played with Gnabry at the Gunners academy.

Gnabry scored 11 goals in 27 league games for Werder Bremen and after scoring a hat-trick on his Germany debut against San Marino, was picked up by giants Bayern Munich in June.

The 22-year-old is currently on-loan at Hoffenheim from Bayern and Wynter says Gnabry definitely made the correct decision in choosing to leave the Gunners 18 months ago.

“I would say it was a bit of a mistake by Arsenal but at the same time knowing how football works I don't think he would have got as much of a chance at Arsenal," Wynter told the Daily Express.

“So for him personally it was definitely the right move to go away. He's at one of the best teams, on-loan from them at the moment. He's definitely done the right thing."
