Chesterfield have signed former Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham United winger Luis Boa Morte.
Boa Morte opened talks with Chesterfield following a chance meeting in London with former Fulham team-mate Mark Crossley, who is assistant to the Derbyshire club's caretaker-manager Tommy Wright.
He told the club's official website: "He asked me if I'd fancy coming up to Chesterfield and it went from there.
"The most important thing for me now is to play football and get going again. I'll be here until the end of January but that doesn't mean that I won't stay until the end of the season."
