Former Arsenal chief David Dein is delighted for manager Arsene Wenger over his early season success. Dein believes the deadline-day signing of Mesut Ozil, who made a superb debut at Sunderland last week, and the team's resurgence in form has since silenced the doubters.
"Arsene has taken a lot of criticism from some of the media," Dein told the Sunday Mirror. "They have been pretty vitriolic over the last six months.
"After the first game of the season, when they lost against Aston Villa, everybody thought the time was up. A lot of Arsenal fans turned against Arsene in the middle of last season too when they weren't doing that well.
"And yet once again he's turned it around. Never underestimate Arsene Wenger."
Dein is an adviser to the forthcoming exhibition Four Four Jew, which will run at London Jewish Museum from October 10, 2013 to February 23, 2014. Visit jewishmuseum.org.uk/Football
