Former Arsenal captain Gilberto Silva says Granit Xhaka needs to show more discipline in his game.
Arsene Wenger paid £35million over the summer for Granit Xhaka to help out Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
Gilberto told the Mail on Sunday: "That job to protect the back four is not easy but very important.
"You are like an unknown person on the field and you mustn't mind if people praise you or not. What is important is to work hard and deliver results. My target was always to help us keep a clean sheet.
"I hope for Arsenal that Xhaka and others like (Francis) Coquelin and (Mohamed) Elneny understand this. You have to do a lot of fighting and the fans and media might not pay attention. It doesn't matter.
"In attack, Arsenal have a lot of talent. Ozil reminds me a bit of Dennis (Bergkamp) in the way he can find the strikers with a pass. I'd have enjoyed playing with him and Sanchez."
