New York Red Bull striker Thierry Henry is hoping to attract as many people as possible, particularly youngsters, to the sport in North America.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona star wants to do what he can to help nurture the talent at grassroots level as well as trying to get the public more interested in the world game.
"The aim is to try and attract people," Henry told a news conference in Montreal ahead of Wednesday's friendly with Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium.
"The history of the game [in North America], it's very young. So what do you say to your kids when you grow up as a dad, you have no stories to tell right now?
"So, we're trying to help, trying to make sure they have some stories to tell."
