New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry has been named the MLS Player of the Week for Week 3.
The 34-year old Frenchman scored twice and set up one for fellow brace-scorer Kenny Cooper as the Red Bulls recorded their first win of the 2012 season with a 4-1 result at home over Colorado Rapids.
Henry swooped on an errant Rapids backpass early in the match to slot expertly past opposing goalkeeper Matt Pickens before supplying a neat through ball for Cooper to add a second in just the seventh minute.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona star then scored with a deft touch and expert finish in the 54th minute to send New York well on their way and grabbing the Player of the Week accolade.
