Ex-Ajax, Nottingham Forest ace Roy: van Gaal can do Man Utd job

Former Holland international Bryan Roy is supremely confident that Louis van Gaal is the man to take over at Manchester United.

The current Oranje boss is being heavily linked with the Red Devils role which is presently filled by interim manager Ryan Giggs following the recent sacking of David Moyes.

Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich gaffer van Gaal is believed to be the man who will step into the Old Trafford hotseat this summer and former Ajax and Nottingham Forest attacker Roy has backed his compatriot in for the role.

"If there is one manager who can do the Manchester United job - he can," Roy told Sky Sports.

"He knows how to create young players and win games against big teams. With his tactical mind and the way he thinks about football, the Premier League is going to have a very difficult time playing against Man United next season.

"It's going to be his biggest job. As a team coach, the Man United job is the biggest to be had and you can be sure he is preparing himself very well.

"He's with the national team for the World Cup and I hope he does well with them first."
