Reading technical chief Brian Tevreden has likened Dutch whizkid Donyell Malen to his senior Arsenal teammate Alexis Sanchez.

Tevreden worked with Malen in the Ajax academy and is convinced by the youngster's potential.

He told Football.London: "It's hard to describe him. If I have to compare him with a player in the Premier League, he seems a bit like Alexis Sánchez. He is relatively small, fast and strong, even though he is not the greatest striker.

"He can also play as an attacking midfielder or as a wide player, he is multifunctional.

"If he does what Arsenal hope, he will be a top player. He is now eighteen years old, so he will be getting closer. It is up to him, he has the potential. It is a mental issue, I think. He must be strong and believe in himself."
