Patrice Evra has implored his Manchester United teammates to bounce back from Monday night's derby loss to Manchester City.

The Red Devils had their lead at the top of the Premier League table reduced to 12 points as City won 2-1 at Old Trafford and ahead of the weekend's meeting with Stoke City, Evra is determined to show everyone in the country why United are perched aloft the standings.

"I hear a lot of people talking about us, saying we didn't deserve the 15-point lead (prior to the loss)," said Evra.

"But if we are here it is because we are working hard and we deserve to win this title. We have to make sure we win at Stoke on Sunday and show we are the best team in England.

"The most important thing is to win the title. We are in a great position but we don't want to put pressure on ourselves.

"Nothing is going to be easy until the end of the season. Stoke is always a difficult place to go. We have to be ready for the fight."
