When United made their move to Evra, Inter Milan and Barcelona also made similar offers to ASM for his transfer.
But Evra made sure of clinching his move to United by holding a media conference and declaring: "If you sell me to Inter, I will stay in Monaco, if you sell me to United, I will go and you win €5.4 million."
And the rest is history.
