Evra determined to show best at Man Utd

Patrice Evra hopes to show Manchester United fans his best form this season.

Although the year ended with gut-wrenching disappointment as he failed to oust Gabriel Heinze from Sir Alex Ferguson's FA Cup Final side, the 26-year-old had already silenced the critics who blasted him during those uncertain first few months as a United player.

Yet Evra realises the insatiable demand for success at Old Trafford means now is no time for looking back.

And he is keen to prove worthy of all the plaudits that came his way during the spring.

"I expect more from myself this season." he said. "There is more pressure on me because last year nobody knew me.

"This year, everybody knows Patrice Evra and the way I play.

But I don't want people to say I was only good in one season.

"Football is like a pyramid. Getting to the top is easy, staying there is much more difficult. This is why I will fight to be part of this squad every day."
