Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra could be handed the captaincy for their FA Cup powderkeg at Liverpool later this month.
The Telegraph says Evra has been handed the armband until the end of the season by manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
And he is set to lead United at Anfield as he returns for the first time since his racist abuse case with Luis Suarez.
While the prospect of Evra being rested for the game has been mooted outside of Old Trafford, Ferguson's decision to overlook the more experienced Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand for the captaincy in the absence of the injured Nemanja Vidic suggests that no plans are in place to leave Evra on the sidelines at Anfield.
