Everyone playing with confidence says Arsenal's Walcott

Theo Walcott felt that everyone in the Arsenal side played with plenty of confidence today.

The Gunners hammered North London rivals Tottenham 5-2 at the Emirates Stadium with Walcott providing an assist for Per Mertesacker's leveller after Emmanuel Adebayor's opener before rounding out the match with an injury-time finish.

After the match (which saw ex-Gunner Adebayor sent off in the 18th minute), Walcott suggested that Arsenal were at their best and made it clear that he has simply been waiting for an opportunity to prove himself again after spending some time on the bench recently.

"We showed people how good we are today," he told Sky Sports 2.

"It'll give us tremendous spirit, and we've got a lot of players back to fitness and everybody's very confident."

He added: "I've just wanted to play and hopefully I'm showing people what I can do now."
