Everton's fit-again striker James Vaughan is delighted with his call-up to the England U21 squad.
He told evertonfc.com: "It's good and I'm glad that I'm in the squad. You never know what could happen on the night, I might get a game and hopefully I can do well.
"Someone passed the message on that I had to go after the game with the Under-21s so obviously I was happy to hear that.
"I know a few of the lads - I've played with a couple of them growing up, for the younger England teams."
The 20-year-old was part of Stuart Pearce's squad for the European Championships in 2007 and made one appearance as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with Italy.
Vaughan added: "I went to the Euros a couple of years back and that was a great experience so hopefully I'll get the same experience again.
"So far I've been fit, and hopefully I can just stay fit and get a few games. With the England thing, if I'm playing well for Everton then hopefully I can start pushing on with them."
