Everton defender Alan Stubbs believes they can win the UEFA Cup this season.

The Blues were selected in Group A during Tuesday's draw in Switzerland. They have been pitted against Holland's AZ Alkmaar, Russia's Zenit St Petersburg, AE Larissa of Greece and Germany's Nurnberg.

Stubbs told evertonfc.com: "I think we can go a long way. I think the way the draw has been made - the games we have got at home are probably the ones we wanted at home.

"We know we are a tough team to beat at Goodison Park and if we can go and get anything away from home in terms of draws or wins it would be a massive help for us.

"We will be looking to win at home and at this stage a few wins can more or less guarantee you a place going through."
