Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar will not face charges from Merseyside police.

The South African international was arrested on suspicion of assault after voluntarily handing himself in to a Liverpool police station on Sunday.

But Police confirmed on Tuesday no charges would be brought against the 26-year-old.
