Everton's Neville determined to beat Man City

Everton captain Phil Neville admits he is hell bent on putting a dent in the Manchester City revival under his former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson.

No surprise there then, from a player who can be assured of the usual hot reception from the Manchester City faithful when the two sides clash at Eastlands on Monday night.

It is a crucial match that will have a major bearing on who finishes fourth in the Barclays Premier League.

He said: "City are always going to be an emotional club. They are so up and down, if they win a couple of games then they are going to win the league, and if they lose a couple they are the worst team in the league.

"But now they have got a manager who has not been emotionally involved in the kind of club that City are. He has had good financial backing and has brought in some very good players.

"They have had a good season so far and I am sure he will want to kick on now, but it is up to us to put a dent into his plans."
