Everton's McFadden "as good as Dalglish, Law"

Former Manchester United and Scotland defender Gordon McQueen told the Daily Record: "James has become just as important to Scotland as Denis and Kenny were in their days at that level.

"They were two world-class players and while McFadden hasn't reached that stage yet, he might some day.

"He is a confident player and is hugely influential in Alex McLeish's side. He has scored in the past three games against Lithuania, France and now Ukraine and those efforts have helped the team produce massive results.

"He's scored 13 goals in 35 international appearances and that is impressive. Denis and Kenny got 30 goals and even Kenny took almost 100 games to reach that figure."
