Everton midfielder James McCarthy admits he is surprise by rumours linking him with a number of Premier League clubs.

The 24-year old Republic of Ireland has recently been linked with the the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham but insists he is fully focused on the Toffees.

"Honest to God, I have not heard anything," said the former Wigan Athletic star.

"It is news to me if a club is going to come in and buy me in the summer. I have not spoken to anyone. I have not heard anything."

McCarthy also made it clear that he is loving life at Goodison Park right now.

"I have got time on my contract here," he added.

"As it stands, I am tied down just now anyway. I am happy here. Nothing has changed from day one. I love it and I am still loving life - I am delighted to be here and I have many years still to come."
