England have called up Everton defender Joleon Lescott after Sol Campbell, of Portsmouth, pulled out of the squad.
Lescott has been in fine form this season and has been rewarded by Three Lions' boss Steve McClaren.
Lescott will act as cover for first choice centre-backs John Terry and Rio Ferdinand for the Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Russia.
