Everton defender Joleon Lescott is happy for ex-Wolves teammate Paul Ince after his appointment as Blackburn Rovers manager this summer.

Lescott faces Ince's Blackburn this weekend and told evertonTV: "I know Ince quite well having played with him at Wolves and I'll be looking for the points this weekend.

"He was great for me personally and especially the team. He's a born leader so he could only help.

"I know he was an influential player for us and a great ambassador for the game. I'm happy that he's in the Premier League.

"I'm not surprised he's gone into management and found his way to the Premier League. I'm surprised he didn't start his career there but I'm pleased he's here now and I wish him all the best - apart from Saturday."
