Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has praised his former Manchester United teammate and Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton for his performances for the Clarets this season.

Howard was left impressed with Heaton in the wake of Everton's 1-0 win over Burnley at Goodison Park on the weekend.

"He's [Heaton] had a fantastic season," Howard said.

"It's very tough being in the position Burnley find themselves in. It's a credit to Tom and the way he has kept going.

"I was with Tom at Manchester United - he was a young kid in the reserve team - and he has done very well for himself and had a good career since he left Manchester United."
