Everton midfielder Darron Gibson says departing skipper Phil Neville would make a good manager.
The Republic of Ireland international rates his 36-year-old former team-mate’s coaching credentials.
He told the Liverpool Echo: “It wouldn’t be a bad thing if he did come in – he’s a good coach. I think he knew he was coming to the end of his playing career and he turned to the coaching side and helped David Moyes a lot over the past few weeks so I’d be glad to see him get some sort of job at Everton.
“Nev knows the club inside out. He knows all the staff and the players well so it wouldn’t be a bad thing if he got the job. But from a supporters point of view it’d be a good thing if someone a bit more experienced did come in. It’s up to the chairman – we’ll have to wait and see.”
