Everton's Fellaini so close to Man Utd move

Everton star Marouane Fellaini could easily have been pulling on a Manchester United shirt for tomorrow's FA Cup semifinal, admits Dad Abdullah Tef.

Marouane was spotted by Real Madrid and Manchester United in youth tournaments when he was still a young kid but Abdullah did not want to leave Belgium.

Last summer after breaking into the Belgium national side as the rising star of Standard Liege, it was Tottenham, Manchester City and Everton who came calling.

David Moyes won the three-way tussle - the £15million deal to the Toffees ran so late it was not announced until the following morning.

Abdullah told The Sun: "We had heard of the interest of Real Madrid and United but I didn't want my son to leave the country so young.

"Last summer Tottenham were very interested and Manchester City too. In the end, though, he went to Everton. I have spoken to David Moyes, who's a charming man.

"They are, of course, very pleased with him and that makes me so proud, how quickly he has adapted."
