Everton's Cahill: I love Pim

Everton star Tim Cahill says he loves Australia coach Pim Verbeek after clinching a place in next year's World Cup. Cahill revealed: "When Pim came to this team, he spoke with every player," Cahill said. "His honesty and his trusting in the players is different because under Guus [Hiddink. Australia's previous manager], you were given your job and that was it.

"You don't have to love your manager but the good thing is I love this manager. He gives us our jobs on the pitch and the boys respond to him.

"I think the best thing for us is that Pim is very sensitive to the style of football we play, he's inherited a great group of boys but we've inherited a manager and a style that has looked after us very well.

"To qualify for the second World Cup is different from the first one, where we were virtually unknown. Now we're there and everyone's expecting us to do better than last time [when they reached the last 16].

"I'm not saying we are going to do better than last time but we're going to do everything we can."
