Everton star Tim Cahill has revealed he's taken Jay Wallace and Jose Baxter under his wing.

"I take great pride in looking after the youngsters and being amongst them and making them realise they are part of the team," he revealed to evertonTV.

"On tour they came closer to the boys and you have seen the way Jay Wallace is on the ball, how relaxed he is, and now it's about putting it into practice on the pitch.

"With Jose he is a natural talent and the kid has a rawness that when let loose could be dangerous."

As impressed as Cahill has been with the precocious pair, he knows the importance of keeping them focussed on their gradual progression.

We need to keep them level headed and help them realise their potential," he explained.

"That is one thing that I enjoy doing, being an example to those lads."
