Everton's Baines determined to do better next season

Everton fullback Leighton Baines admits he was disappointed with his first senior season at Goodison Park.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "Last season was frustrating. I probably played more games than people might think and I was available for a lot more than people might think. The general belief is that I was injured for a lot of the time when I wasn't.

"Although I wasn't fully fit I was always available, so it will be nice to get back and be fully fit and hopefully be considered for the games more often.

"It's a couple of weeks down the line since the surgery so I'm starting my rehab now and getting the movement back in the ankle.

"It's something that's been hampering me for a while, even though I was available for a lot of games last season. It was still causing me a bit of trouble so it was nice to get it done."
