Everton striker Victor Anichebe is in line to represent Nigeria at the Beijing Olympics.

Nigeria Under 23 coach Samson Siasia has recently admitted he is planning to contact Anichebe about the possibility of participating in Beijing next summer.

He said: "Starting from the U23 team is not a bad idea and an avenue for him. I know he is disappointed right now but Berti Vogts has so many quality attackers in the team.

"He is a young man and we all know that he is a great player. So if he wants to come and join my team, the door is open."
