Everton youngster Jonjoe Kenny is pushing for more senior action next season.
The 20-year-old right-back came off the bench against Swansea City earlier this month to play under the Dutchman for the first time.
“I've got to come back to pre-season and get in front of the gaffer's eye and do my best, that's all I can do, try and impress him and try and get into the Everton team," he said.
Asked how many more of the title winning u-23s squad could progress into the first-team, Kenny said: “You know there are a few talents but it's not as easy as you might think.
“Just because you're young, the manager isn't going to throw you on, you've got to be a top young player and you've seen it with Dominic, Tom, Mason and Ademola, they are top young players and that is what you have got to reach for."
