Ross Barkley is hoping he can impress the new Everton boss this summer and push for a regular first team spot.
The highly-rated 19-year old midfielder was named the clubs Young Player of the Year for 2012/13 and now wants to take the next step and become a frequent senior player under whoever comes into replace David Moyes.
"Things like the award give me real hope of becoming a first-team regular and I'm thinking about next season already," he told evertontv.
"I've got the Under-20 World Cup coming up (with England U20s), so I haven't really got a summer but I'll be ready for the pre-season, for the new manager and hopefully I'll impress him.
"Playing against different countries from all over the world will be good for me. It should be a good experience."
