Everton midfielder Ross Barkley hopes Leighton Baines chooses to stay.

Baines is a top target for Manchester United.

Barkley wrote in the Daily Express: "I've been following what is happening at Everton and I desperately want Leighton Baines to stay despite the interest from Manchester United.

"He is someone I look up to, a role model in how he conducts himself and the strides he has made in his career."
