Bolasie admits he's made the move to lift his own spirits.
"I'm here to make myself smile again and enjoy the game," he said. "I'll try to do that to the best of my ability for the team. Then my plans can come after that.
"It seems like an environment where I come enjoy coming into work and playing football again.
"It's an ideal situation for me, I'm ready to take it. I know I'm a hard worker, I know I'm a grafter, and I know coming down into the Championship is going to be tough because you're playing against good players, players who are improving, and some really good teams.
"Also the status coming down from the Premier League, everybody is going to up their game against me and I look forward to that challenge and helping Villa up the table and getting promoted."
