Everton have confirmed that Yannick Bolasie is set to spend some time on the sidelines.
The DR Congo winger will undergo knee surgery this week after sustaining ligament damage on Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
Scans on Monday revealed that Bolasie has damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and will now have an operation to fix the damaged area before commencing rehab.
A timeline for his absence has not yet been confirmed by the Toffees.
