Everton will miss Pienaar but we can overcome that - Howard

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard is well aware that the team will be disadvantaged by the loss of Steven Pienaar for the upcoming Merseyside derby with Liverpool.

The Toffees take on the Reds at Goodison Park on Sunday but South African midfielder Pienaar will not play after he was sent off in yesterday's 1-1 draw at QPR.

Howard knows that David Moyes' side will miss Pienaar but is confident that Everton have the players to overcome his absence.

"Missing Steven Pienaar through suspension is still a huge loss but we have gotten much better," Howard told the club's official website.

"Guys are going to have to fill in that role and hopefully fill in a positive way.

"He's a big miss but we will get on with it, have a good week of training and figure out the system we want to attack them with and someone is going to have to fill in."
