Everton boss David Moyes is keen on Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.

The Sun says Everton will battle it out with Arsenal in a summer scramble for Chamakh.

Moyes sent scouts to watch the Moroccan marksman play against Lorient on Saturday.

And Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been keeping tabs on the player for months.

But it looks as though they will have to wait after the £7million star vowed to see out the remaining six months of his contract before leaving on a free transfer.

He said: "I am certain to finish the season with Bordeaux. I will be free at the end of the season but I don't want to see my name bandied around in January."
