Everton are keeping tabs on Porto midfielder Steven Defour.

The 24 year-old moved to Porto last year from Standard Liege, but has had an inconsistent first 18 months in Portugal.

Defour is contracted to Porto until 2016 and famously received a letter from Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson two years ago when he was recovering from a serious knee injury.
