Everton want £10 million to release manager David Moyes.
The Daily Star Sunday says they will demand £10million in compensation if another club attempts to poach manager Moyes.
Aston Villa, searching for a successor to Gerard Houllier, are known to be keen on Moyes.
But Everton insist they have had no approach for their boss and, even if there was one, chairman Bill Kenwright is confident Moyes would decide to stay at Goodison.
In the event of Villa or anyone else making a move, Everton would want to be compensated for the remaining 28 months of Moyes' contract - and that figure would approach £10m.
