Everton defender Sylvain Distin was happy to be back for their draw at West Bromwich Albion.
Distin, 36, made his first appearance of 2014 following a hamstring injury.
The ex-Manchester City defender said: "Are we that much better than we used to be?
"I have been here for four years and I'm pretty sure we have been knocking at the door of the Champions League before.
"This season we have a few more players and play a different style of football, but the past four seasons I think we've had the fourth best defence in the league.
"It's not like we are in a position we have never been before."
