Everton veteran Gareth Barry is convinced Ross Barkley can benefit from his current managers.

Barry credited Toffees boss Ronald Koeman for “kicking (Barkley's) game on another level".

And with Barry having been supported as a youngster by new national boss Gareth Southgate during the duo's time together at Aston Villa, he is confident Barkley has the perfect guidance to keep thriving in the shirts of Everton and England.

“He (Southgate) understands the game, he understands the personalities, which is just as important, and Ross will need talking to like the manager (Koeman) has done with him this season," said Barry to the evertonfc.com.

“(Koeman) seems to have kicked his game on another level. The manager here deserves a lot of credit for that and I'm sure Gareth Southgate can do the same."
